Karoon Petrochemical Company was put into operation and started production with a good quality. Now, Toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and Hydrochloric Acid are available for sale.
All of the plant units are working normally for the present and production is in progress with 60 percent of the maximum capacity.
Karoon Pet. Co. which is the first Isocyanate project through the Middle East, is located in Bandar Imam pet-zone. In its first Phase, the Company will produce 40 thousand tons of toluene diisocyanate (TDI) per year. The product is used as the raw material in some industries include Polyurethane foams, Insulation, House hold refrigerators & board or laminate form, Residential sheathing or commercial roofing, Floor finishes, wood finishes and paint, Adhesive and sealant compounds.
In addition to the main product (TDI), 110 thousand tons of Hydrochloric acid (HCl) and 36 thousand tons of Bleach (NaOCl) are produced in the company as well.
