History:
Being the first Isocyanate producer in Middle East, Karoon Petrochemical Company was founded by National Iranian Petrochemical Company and its partners Chematur Engineering AB and Hansa Chemie International AG in 2002.
The financing contract for the first phase of the isocyanates complex in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone, southwest of Iran, became effective in 2002 and was formally inaugurated by Iran's oil minister in 2008.
Products:
The main product of the plant is TDI, with capacity of 40,000 tons per year. Karoon also produce Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Hypochlorite in form of by-products.
The company’s products and services are designed to provide domestic downstream industries with high levels of raw material quality. Also, the company is entering the global competition in the field of Isocyanates market.
Raw Materials:
Almost all of Karoon's raw materials are provided from domestic companies. Fortunately, most of these companies are located in Bandar-e Emam PETZONE. So, they become cheaper and their transport is easier.
